Ethylene Oxide Abatement Solution

- Reducing energy costs by the incorporating a recuperative heat exchanger.

 

The complete catalytic abator solution for treating all ethylene oxide toxic vent emissions from the sterilisation of medical devices.

 

The catalytic abator system uses the proven technology of catalytic oxidation to offer a safe and controlled purification, with high destruction efficiency from various vents generated during the sterilisation process.

 

The LESNI unique system has two steps:

 


In the first step a BALANCER is used to stabilise the expected variations in the incoming quantity of ethylene oxide. So when the incoming concentrations of EO are high, the balancer will serve as an absorber; but when incoming concentrations of EO are low, controlled stripping of EO will take place to feed a continuous but steady load to the catalytic oxidiser.

 

The second step of the plant is the catalytic ABATOR itself, where the EO is
converted into CO2 and H2O, this is inhibited by the low temperature catalyst used.

 

The energy needed for preheating the air can be provided through a gas burner, electric or steam heater.

 

The energy costs are substantially reduced by the incorporation of a recuperative heat exchanger.

 

A switch control panel for remote operation and supervision of the plant is supplied and installed local to the operating personal.

 

The LESNI system will be designed to obtain the purification required by the authorities (0.5 - 5 mg/m3) with the highest degree of security and efficiency.
